About

I am happily married to Raymond Verhoeff and the mother of four wonderful children, all grown with lives of their own. Presently, I am the grandmother of four wonderful boys, equally delightful. I am a retired nurse who’s subspecialty was oncology and HIV, and most recently, prior to retirement, functional medicine. Nursing is a satisfying career that I highly recommend to anyone wanting to make a difference in the lives of others.
I am a past president of the Rockland County Choral Society as well as the director of my synagogue’s choir. I am also a Baal Kriah at my synagogue, which means that I am one of the members able to chant from the Torah scroll, an especially meaningful task to me and an honor I take to heart.
I have a great love of singing. Equally so, I relish when the rhythm comes down through my feet and I can enjoy a dance or two. I perform tap dance with adult women on a regular basis in order to fulfill that craving to move my feet to a beat.
My other great passions are needle crafts, reading, and doing jigsaw puzzles. It is hard to describe what I feel while engaging in any of these activities but there is a peaceful contentment inside of me every time I’m engrossed in one of them.
My creativity is definitely at the heart of my stories. I often find it keeps me awake at night as I script stories in my head. Despite that, my goal continues to be an easy read but with deep meaning. I also strive to have the reader feel they can relate to the struggles within the chapters, no matter their social or religious background. After all, most issues in relationships are universal to us all.
